Temporary changes to the 801, L and X52
The Cheltenham Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 20 September. Many roads in the town will be closed whilst the event takes place. This will affect services 801, L and X52 as follows:
801 – buses will start and finish at Cheltenham General Hospital (College Road southbound) throughout the morning and will not pick up at Royal Well Bus Station, John Lewis, or Stanford Park. The first service to depart from Cheltenham Royal Well Bus Station is expected to be the 13:30, but this is subject to the roads reopening as planned.
L – buses will operate in two sections throughout the morning. One section will run from Coronation Square to Royal Well Bus Station (bay C), and the other from Leckhampton to Cheltenham General Hospital (College Road southbound). During this time buses will not serve any stops in the town centre between Royal Well Bus Station and Cheltenham General Hospital. The first service from Primark towards Leckhampton is expected to be the 13:35 departure. The first service from Coronation Square to Leckhampton is expected to be the 13:47 departure. The first service from Leckhampton to Coronation Square is expected to be the 13:50 (calling at Primark at 14:15). Please click here to see the special timetable.
X52 – buses will start and finish at Cheltenham General Hospital (College Road southbound) throughout the morning and will not pick up at Royal Well Bus Station, John Lewis, London Road (Hewlett Road) or London Road (Sydenham Villas Road). The first service to depart Cheltenham Royal Well Bus Station will be the 14:47 journey to Burford (continuing to Oxford).
