  • Supervise the day-to-day management and running of our school and local bus services and the daily delivery of the operational run in and run out.
  • Tracking of dedicated home to school services to ensure on time performance.
  • Timely communication with colleagues, schools and county councils regarding disruption to home to school services.
  • Effective forward route planning to account for diversions and road closures, ensuring that drivers, the wider operations team and schools or local authorities as appropriate, are informed.
  • Maintain the route risk assessments and route knowledge information for all local bus services and home to school services, supporting the allocations and training teams where required to successfully complete driver route learning activities.
  • First Use Check and Gate Check Audits, to include all necessary identity documentation required.
  • CCTV downloads as required.
  • Work with the Allocations Supervisors and private hire team to ensure that daytime cleaning resource is utilised effectively, to support business priorities.
  • Ensure drivers are equipped with the necessary paperwork and signage required.
  • Complaint investigation i.e. identification of bus/driver etc.
  • Coach, support and advise our driver colleagues on a daily basis.
  • Ensure compliance with all appropriate driving regulations, both Domestic, European and or Mixed Rules at all times.
  • Keep accurate records of the Duty Allocation System (DAS) and Coach Manager for duty, vehicles, rota allocations and the controller daily log.
  • Work with the Allocations Supervisors to ensure that the Days Off Spreadsheet (DOS) is up to date to identify any compliance issues before they may arise.
  • Work in collaboration with the engineering team to liaise and collaborate with breakdowns, RTCs and VOR’s.
  • Work with wider operations team to ensure that systems hardware that support local bus, home to school, coaching and rail replacement activities are in good working order, and successfully deployed on vehicles as appropriate.
  • Lost mileage reconciliation and EPM recording as necessary.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities of a similar nature or level of responsibility as may be allocated from time to time.
  • Driving coverage if necessary.
  • Assist with handling any emergency which may arise, including following procedures in the event of fire
  • Carry out duties safely and in accordance with all company policies & procedures and to comply with Company Health & Safety Policy and Risk Assessments
  • To generally promote the company and uphold the company’s reputation, enhancing the company’s image through appearance and behaviour

We’re looking for someone who is:

      • Full manual or automatic car licence
      • Computer literate
      • GCSE’s (or equivalent) in English and Maths
      • PCV licence
      • A highly organised individual with a proactive and positive attitude to work
      • A willingness to learn and work flexibly to the needs of the business
      • Enthusiastic, conscientious and hardworking
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Able to remain calm under pressure
      • Experience of supervising staff
      • Experience in allocation processes
